Not All Herb Candles Are Created Equal
Most "herbal" candles on the market use fragrance oils—synthetic compounds engineered to smell like herbs. Some sprinkle dried herbs on top for decoration. A few actually infuse herbs, but often all at once, creating a muddy blend where no single plant shines through.
We do it differently.
Our Four-Step Process
1. Source
Every herb we use is organic, sourced from suppliers who share our commitment to quality. We prioritize domestic growers when possible and maintain relationships with farms we trust.
We don't use essential oils or fragrance oils—just the actual plants.
Our core herbs include: Lavender, Chamomile, Rose, Calendula, Mugwort, Rosemary, Bay Leaf, Cinnamon, Clove, Mint, Lemon Balm, and many more.
2. Infuse (The Secret)
This is where we're different.
We infuse each herb separately.
When you combine multiple herbs in hot wax at the same time, their properties compete and cancel each other out. You end up with a generic "herbal" scent that doesn't capture any single plant's unique character.
Instead, we:
- Heat pure beeswax to a precise low temperature (never exceeding 150°F to preserve plant compounds)
- Add a single herb
- Maintain that temperature for 2-4 hours, stirring periodically
- Strain through cheesecloth
- Store the infused wax separately
This means a four-herb blend requires four separate infusion sessions before we even begin making the candle. It takes days instead of hours. But the result is worth it—you can actually distinguish each herb's contribution to the final candle.
3. Blend
Once we have our infused waxes, we combine them in careful proportions. For blends like Inner Radiance (Chamomile, Calendula, Rose, Lavender), we've tested dozens of ratios to find the balance where each herb is present without overpowering the others.
Single-herb candles from our Hyperfocus Collection skip this step—they're pure, unblended infusions for those who want the full experience of one plant.
4. Pour
Every candle is hand-poured in small batches:
- Hemp wicks (cotton wicks can contain trace chemicals)
- Careful temperature control for even burning
- Curing time of at least 48 hours before shipping
We don't use dyes. The golden color you see is pure beeswax.
Why Beeswax?
We chose beeswax over soy, coconut, or paraffin for several reasons:
Clean burn – Beeswax produces virtually no soot and releases negative ions that can actually purify the air.
Long burn time – Beeswax has a higher melting point, so our candles last significantly longer than comparable soy candles.
Natural honey scent – The subtle sweetness of beeswax complements herbal infusions beautifully without competing.
Sustainable – Beeswax is a natural byproduct of honey production. We source from apiaries that practice ethical beekeeping.

- ❌ Paraffin (petroleum byproduct)
- ❌ Synthetic fragrance oils
- ❌ Essential oils (we prefer whole-herb infusion)
- ❌ Dyes or colorants
- ❌ Lead-core wicks
- ❌ Preservatives or additives
